Where East meets West
Istanbul is a fascinating city steeped in history
Whether you are a culture vulture in search of great historical treasures, a foody looking for a gastronomic experience, or simply want to mooch around taking each day as it comes, Istanbul should be at the top of your list of ‘must see’ places to visit.
Most of our hotels are located in Sultanahmet, on the doorstep of some of the most striking architectural splendours in the city; the impressive monuments of the Aya Sofya and the imposing Blue Mosque, which dominates Istanbul’s skyline. Also in this ancient district are many other places well worth a visit, including Topkapi Palace, the colourful markets of the Grand Bazaar, the Basilica cistern, and nearby Gulhane Park is a beautiful relaxing place to take a stroll after an exhilarating day exploring the myriad of historical sights.
By night there are some chic rooftop restaurants to visit with panoramic views over the glittering Bosphorus, as well as the more traditional Cicek Pasaji in Beyoglu and Kumkapi in Eminonu, both atmospheric places to dine on fresh Turkish dishes whilst listening to local musicians playing at your table.
Istanbul is the perfect destination to combine with other regions of Turkey, such as incredible Cappadocia with its unusual lunar landscape, or perhaps a relaxing villa holiday on the beautiful Turquoise Coast.
Our hotels are situated in the old district of Sultanahmet, a stone’s throw from all the historical sights, making them an ideal for a short break enabling guests to cram in as much sightseeing as possible!
